Treading the waters of global distribution

Netflix on TV Screen with Remote Control

Starting anything new comes with its own set of challenges and hurdles. Basically, if you enter the arena then be prepared to get a little battered and bruised along the way!

11 months ago we embarked on the journey of launching a new distribution company, after an opportunity arose to secure the distribution rights for a new reality television series which we also produced in-house.

Oaia Road Distribution will actively seek out global distribution deals and partnership opportunities for our own original productions and creative assets. But as they say, good things take time.

The reality is that it’s a saturated market and it’s certainly been a slow and humbling journey so far. In saying that, we’ve really enjoyed building new connections across the world in both Australia and Europe initially, and feel extremely grateful for all the new introductions that some wonderful people across the industry have made for us so far.

While we are still in the very early days of our initial growth phase as a company, plans for the future include working to help minimise many of the challenges smaller, independent filmmakers and creators face with distribution on a global level. Our goal is to make it easier for independent creators to launch their content to a global market, and to make it easier for networks and platforms to find fresh, new, innovative and original content from upcoming creators.

We’re looking forward to the year ahead, which will no doubt bring with it a whole new set of challenges and hurdles as we scale the brand.
